Laser Levels
A laser level is used to either create some sort of even line. Laser levels with a rotating motor are capable of creating the illusion of a line. Newer versions of the laser levels with a fixed lens can actually create a line.
There are many variations on the laser level. Lasers frequently rely on a tripod for support. Other options for mounting a laser level include mounting them on a wall or setting them on the surface the beam is being projected onto.
Laser levels are used in surveying and construction to project a line onto a horizontal plane. Operators are equipped with a portable sensor installed inside a staff. The sensor detects laser beams and alerts the operator when the sensor is in line with the laser beam. The location of the sensor when it aligns with the laser gives the operator information about the different elevations at varying points on the landscape.
